How Lockdt works
Make a Promise
Pick one app and how long to lock it, from 20 minutes up to just under 24 hours. You can run up to 10 Promises at once, one app each.
Choose your stakes
- No stakes: breaks are free.
- Low, Medium or Extreme: each break is a one-off purchase through Apple. The prices are shown before you start, and each break on the same Promise costs more than the last, for up to four steps.
For paid stakes, Lockdt asks you to set a Screen Time passcode, which makes the lock harder to undo. If you skip it, the Promise becomes No stakes.
When you open a locked app
You'll see how long is left and your goal. The only button is Close. To break, open Lockdt.
Breaking a Promise
On the Home screen, tap Break on the Promise. For paid stakes, Apple asks you to confirm the purchase. The app unlocks for 20 minutes, then the lock returns until the Promise ends.
Break isn't offered in the last minute of a Promise, or while an unlock is already running.
When time's up
The lock lifts on its own. The Promise shows Ended, and clears next time you open Lockdt.
Screen Time access
Lockdt needs Screen Time access to work. If it's turned off, Break is hidden and locks can lift. Turn it back on in Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access → Lockdt.
Your goal
The goal you set appears on every locked screen. Change it anytime in Lockdt → Settings → Goal.
